How people and customers can request deletion of personal information processed by Balu.

Overview

Balu processes account, business, property, and guest conversation information to provide hospitality messaging and operations software.

You may request deletion of personal information associated with Balu, subject to identity verification, customer authorization, legal retention duties, security logs, backups, billing records, and dispute-resolution requirements.

How to request deletion

Email privacy@balu.cx with the subject "Data deletion request".

Include the email address, Instagram handle, WhatsApp number, or other identifier connected to the data you want deleted, plus enough context for us to locate the relevant account or conversation.

Customers and guest conversations

If you are a guest messaging one of our hospitality customers, we may need to coordinate with that customer before deleting conversation records because they control the guest relationship and may have reservation, security, accounting, or legal retention obligations.

If you are a Balu customer, you can request deletion of your account data, workspace configuration, approved knowledge, channel records, and related operational data.

What happens next

  • We review and verify the request.
  • We delete or de-identify eligible information from active systems where deletion is appropriate.
  • Some records may be retained where required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, billing, backups, audits, or dispute resolution.
  • We aim to respond within a reasonable time and will explain if we need more information.
